Pyongyang Mass Rally Marks Day of Anti-U.S Struggle

Pyongyang, June 25 (KCNA) -- A mass rally of Pyongyangites took place at Kim Il Sung Square on June 25, the day of struggle against U.S. imperialism.

Attending it were Kim Ki Nam, Ri Su Yong and other senior party and state officials, the chairman of the C.C., Korean Social Democratic Party amd officials of ministries and national institutions, industrial establishments, co-op farms and universities in the city, working people, youth and students and overseas Koreans on a visit to the homeland and the chief of the Pyongyang mission of the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front.

Present there on invitation were representatives and staff members of foreign embassies and members of the military attaches corps here and other foreign guests.

Cha Hui Rim, chairman of the Pyongyang City People's Committee, and delegates from the working class, agricultural workers and youth and students took the floor at the rally.

They referred to the facts that the U.S. imperialists ignited a war against the DPRK on June 25, 1950, resorted to all kinds of the cruelest methods and means to commit an unheard-of holocaust and vandalism, made wholesale use of germ and chemical weapons prohibited by international law, and even ran amuck to use an A-bomb to exterminate the Korean people.

The thrice-cursed atrocities against the Korean people committed by the U.S. imperialist beasts were recorded in history as scars never to be healed, they said, adding:

The hostile forces led by the U.S. imperialists have cooked up a series of "sanctions resolutions" against the DPRK and frantically staged the drills for a nuclear war against it. This is an unpardonable provocation and frontal challenge to the DPRK's idea, system, army and people.

If the U.S. imperialists and puppet war maniacs ignite a nuclear war on this land, the Korean army and people will annihilate all the invaders by dint of the single-minded unity, invincible military forces, incredible self-reliance and self-development, and surely achieve the historic cause of national reunification.

Then followed a public procession.

Meanwhile, similar mass rallies were held in every province to mark the day of struggle against U.S. imperialism. -0-
