No THAAD, Peace!

No THAAD, Peace!

It has been revealed that the south Korean Defense Ministry intentionally hid the fact about the additional introduction of four launching pads of THAAD in the US military base in south Korea, sparking off censure from various circles.
The Solidarity for Peace and Reunification and other civic and social groups gathered outside the Defense Ministry building to hold a press conference on May 31. At the conference they criticized the military authorities for hiding the additional introduction of four launchers of THAAD.
The speakers at the conference termed THAAD a good-for-nothing weapon harassing peace and security.
The Defense Ministry deceived the people to introduce THAAD and THAAD is for shielding the US and Japan, they assailed.
The THAAD is deployed through illegality, deception and arbitrariness; it is the worst evil and total nullity, they noted.
Accusing the Defense Ministry of deceiving the public and illegally introducing THAAD, they urged the "government" to thoroughly review the whole course of its deployment, punish the mastermind and retract the deployment project at once.
In Seoul the Action for Checking THAAD Deployment on June 3 demanded an immediate halt to THAAD deployment, a strict investigation into the process of THAAD deployment and punishment of chief culprit.
In the middle of the demonstration, they chanted slogans “Stop THAAD deployment!” and “No THAAD, Peace” in front of the US embassy.
Defense Minister Han Min-gu, Foreign Minister Yun Byeong-se and those involved pretended ignorance and the conservative groups including the Liberty Korea Party are partial to them trumpeting about the new government should make every possible efforts to deploy THAAD, when north Korea makes a series of provocation and make prudent approach in order to tighten south Korea-US nexus.
The south Korean people should accelerate the action against deployment of THAAD, mindful of peace and stability of the Korean peninsula and Northeast Asia are ensured when THAAD is withdrawn from south Korea.
