State Merited Chorus

The State Merited Chorus of the DPRK is widely known throughout the world.
It is a veteran art troupe which is inspiring all the service persons and people of the DPRK to the all-out general offensive for the building of a socialist thriving nation.
The Korean people enjoy and love to sing the songs by the State Merited Chorus, likening them to the volley firing of the tube bins.
The chorus made its debut by performing the immortal hymn Song of General Kim Il Sung in February Juche 36(1947).
Since then, the dynamic songs of the chorus have never stopped in the 70-odd years of history of the Workers’ Party of Korea and even got higher as the ordeals and difficulties cropped up.
The chorus has ceaselessly created revolutionary war songs reflecting the lines and policies of the WPK and the government as befit the sprits of the times.
The Korean people demonstrated a great many heroic myths and miracles, stunning the world, keeping their steps with the powerful songs of the chorus, as good as the appeals of the Central Committee of the Party and the times.
Leader Kim Jong Il set up the State Merited Chorus as the chorus representing the nation and as the vigorous bugler of the WPK, marching in the van of the Songun revolutionary ranks.
The chorus composed of talented vocalists and players is now breaking new ground of the musical creation by combining orchestras and choruses of its own style which have reached a very high stage in terms of the volume and range of voice and ensemble.

The songs of the State Merited Chorus, which are full of the socialist spirits and vigor, flowing with rich emotions and optimism and which have reached a world-ranking stage in its artistic quality, are energetically encouraging the advance of the Korean people who have turned out in the struggle to build a socialist thriving nation.
