Recently Rim Hyon Su a Korean resident of Canada was sentenced to life long correctional labour by the supreme court of the Democratic People's Republic. Rim was found guilty , and indeed confessed to , subversive plots and activities against the DPRK which were part of a wider pattern of state-sponsored political terrorism and anti-DPRK hostile policy of the U.S. and south Korean authorities.
Rim, a so-called 'man of the cloth', a  'holy man' actually broke families up in the DPRK by aiding and abetting the abduction of DPRK citizens through so-called 'defections'.
Missionaries had a long record of acting as agents of imperialism . Historically so-called Christian missionaries have committed many crimes in Korea. One American Christian poured hydrochloric acid on a young boy who picked up an apple.  The DPRK has a socialist system centred on the people and therefore does not need missionary work .
The DPRK is correct to give Rim a life sentence  as he is an agent of imperialism and a traitor to the Korean nation.
Canada should not be dismayed at the sentence , this is an internal matter of the DPRK and its sovereign right. Rather Canada should be dismayed at the numbers of homeless on its streets.
