UK KFA Picket 31st August

                                                     

                                                  

On the 31st of August the UK Korean Friendship Association , together with the Juche Idea Study Group of England and the Association for the Study of Songun Politics UK along with members of the New Communist Party and also Communist Party of Great Britain Marxist Leninist picketed the US and south Korean embassies to demand the discontinuation of US imperialist led war exercises against the DPRK and the withdrawal of US forces from the south Korea . This was staged despite the rainy weather.

The first picket was at the south Korean puppet embassy from 2pm. In attendance members of the UK KFA , KFA members from other countries , JISGE and ASSPUK members and in attendance was Daphne Liddle NCP CC member and New Worker joint editor.
Dermot Hudson said that a war was narrowly averted in Korea thanks to the patient and peace loving efforts of the DPRK .In order to avert war permanently US troops must be withdrawn from south Korea and there must be an end to exercises such as Ulji Freedom Guardian . The speaker also denounced the recent arrest of the director for Foreign Cooperation of the Korea Solidarity for Independent Reunification and Democracy on Aug. 26 as well the contuining imprisonment of Mr Ro So Hui and other pro -reunification patriots.

At 4-30pm The US embassy was picketed. As well as UK KFA , JISGE and ASSPUK members in attendance was Andy Brooks general secretary of the New Communist Party and Theo Russell NCP CC member.
Dermot Hudson UK KFA chairman and JISGE Chairman denounced the US for holding the Ulji Freedom Guardian exercises and bringing the Korean peninsula to the brink of war . The speaker said that Ulji Freedom Guardian was a nuclear strike exercise. US troops must be withdrawn from south Korea at once and exercises stopped. The speaker also denounced the human rights violations by the US and its crimes against the Korean people.
