Pyongyang, July 22 (KCNA) -- Article 66 of the Socialist Labor Law and
article 33 of the law on protection of women's rights were amended by
the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK.
According to the amended articles, the length of maternity leave for
working women was extended from 150 days to 240 days, 60 days before
and 180 days after childbirth.
Experts say that the extension of maternity leave is of great
significance in letting working women enjoy more social benefits. -0-
