Concerning Rumours about "reform " in the DPRK

Recently there have been rumours and speculation about the subject of "reform " in the DPRK . The main source for this appears to be the Russian DPRK basher Andrei Lankov , a reactionary Russian academic now based in a south Korean university and a frequent contributor to the US and south Korean media .(see

What is the position of the DPRK on "reform " and "opening up " ? The great leader comrade KIM JONG IL said
"The imperialist reactionaries are now slandering our Republic, the motherland of Juche, claiming that it is “closed” and “isolated,” and are making futile attempts to lead us to “reform” and “openness.”

Our country has never closed its doors, and it maintains good relations with many countries, home to billions of people, around the world, based on mutual respect. As for reform, we reformed the outdated social system in a revolutionary fashion decades ago, and have been constantly creating the new and renovating what is old and backward. In actual fact, the imperialists and reactionaries are hostile towards our country and are blockading it and trying to isolate it.

The “reform” and “openness” they are advocating represent a move to destroy and put down our style of socialism. Such moves will only worsen their relations with us and are doomed to failure"

Just after the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL passed away the National Defence Commission of the DPRK stated "we solemnly declare with confidence that the south Korean puppets and foolish politicians around the world should not expect any change from the DPRK." .Later on in 2012 the Committee For the Peaceful Reunification of Korea stated "To expect "policy change" and "reform and opening" from the DPRK is nothing but a foolish and silly dream just like wanting the sun to rise in the west."
Dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN said
"Efforts should be directed to holding fast to the socialist principles in the economic work and enhancing the sense of responsibility and role of working people, undertakers of production and construction, so as to increase production to the maximum."
furthermore that ;
"The effort to build a thriving socialist country is accompanied by a serious class struggle to eliminate all that are hostile and non-socialist."
The above quotations explain the DPRK's true position.
In the past few months Rodong Sinmun carried an article on the economy which said that "It is necessary to settle the issue of economic management by Korean style in order to fully demonstrate the advantages and might of the Juche-oriented socialist self-supporting economy and win the final victory in the drive for building a thriving nation...The establishment of Korean-style economic management method is, in essence, the work to apply, carry forward and develop the principle and methods of economic management indicated by President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il as required by the present times."

Thus the DPRK does not intend to adopt "China style reforms " but to solve any questions in the Korean style, adhering to socialist principles and carrying forward the ideas of President KIM IL SUNG and leader KIM JONG IL !
