New Speed of Advance

The DPRK is now making energetic efforts to bring about a great change in all fields in the spirit of the creators of the “Masikryong Speed”, a new speed of advance.
The speed was created in the course of building a world-class ski resort on Masik Pass area last year.
Masik Pass area rises over 1 360 m above the sea level.
The construction project of ski resort covering over 1 400 hectares had to tide over unfavourable conditions of the large amount of precipitation in the east coastal area in the oceanic climate and of a high mountain range.
The builders had to lay slopes 1 700 m on the average, more than 5 000 m at the longest and it was difficult to use modern machines in the project.
Over 20 000 m3 of earth and rocks had to be removed on the average to lay a slope.
The vast project comprised 10 slopes, a hotel, ski service and lodging buildings, ski lifts on different courses and snow gunning facilities.
In June Juche 102(2013) Marshal Kim Jong Un called on all the service personnel and people to create “Masikryong Speed”, a new offensive speed to complete the ski resort for the people within the year.
The concerted efforts of the Korean people and service personnel miraculously finished the construction of the ski resort in a matter of less than a year, a project that had to take over 10 years.
The creation of the “Masikryong Speed” was an answer of the Korean service personnel and people to their leader’s call of love for people.
The U.S. and its following forces persistently tried to hamper the project, prattling the Masikryong Ski Resort would never be completed.
But the Korean service personnel and people cut the ribbon of inauguration of the ski resort on December 31, Juche 102(2013), showing to the world once again that when determined, Korea will do anything without question.
The Masikryong Ski Resort is on the world level in the number of slopes and their total length.
It is a comprehensive winter sports base equipped with all conditions needed for sports, tourism and recreation.
Over 60 objects were built up on the highest level, familiar with nature and befitting the mountain area.
They include unique hotel, ski service and lodging buildings, heliport and ski lifts.
What miracles the new speed of advance would work in the DPRK in Juche 103(2014) is not yet predictable.
