Kim Jong ll's Patriotism

Kim Jong ll's Patriotism
Chairman Kim Jong Il, whom the Korean people hold up as their eternal leader, was a great model of a true patriot.
His love for his motherland was the most genuine and ardent one. When he saw a thickly wooded mountain or a vast field realigned in a sweeping manner, he would say to himself, "our green mountain" and "our green field." When he was on a visit to a foreign country he said with deep emotion, "my country" missing his country. When he saw poorly-wooded mountains on his field guidance trip, he would feel painful and sometimes personally planted trees, saying that we should turn the country into a land of golden tapestry and hand it over to the coming generations.
His intense love for his country is well evidenced by his efforts dedicated to defending socialist Korea and building it up as a thriving country.
In the closing years of the last century when the imperialist allied forces intensified their vicious moves to stifle the DPRK politically, economically and militarily in an attempt to "completely eradicate socialism," Kim Jong Il held higher the banner of Songun. Thanks to his Songun-based revolutionary leadership, Korea was turned into a world-class military power and impregnable fortress of socialism nobody would dare attack.
The introduction of CNC technology that effected an industrial revolution in the new century in the country was a courageous decision made only by Kim Jong Il who loved his country more ardently than anybody else.
When Korea was undergoing the worst-ever difficulties in the late 1990s he decided to have precious funds, which could be called all in the coffers of the state, allocated for the introduction of CNC technology for the prosperous future of the country. Thus, in the trying days Korea began to manufacture CNC machines. Now it secured supremacy in CNC technology and ushered in a new
era of knowledge-based industry, breaking through the cutting edge in its overall economy.
Chairman Kim Jong Il devoted his all for the prosperity of the country and the happiness of the people.
He set out on the long, do-or-die march of Songun-based leadership to surmount harsh trials facing the country and defend  it at the end of the last century. From early 1995 when he administered Songun politics on a fulI scale to late 2011 when he passed away he gave on-site guidance at over 3 808 units covering 353 576 kilometres, in the course of which he often crossed rugged Chol Pass and Mt. Osong, sometimes braving howling snowstorms and pushing the car with his shoulder, and visited Cho Islet across the rough sea and frontline posts including Panmumjon on the Military Demarcation Line which is a stone's throw from the enemy.
Kim Jong Il did not merely defend the country but he opened a new era of national prosperity. While providing his Songun-based leadership he visited rural areas to unfold a far-reaching plan of realigning the farmland across the country into large-size, standardized plots as befits the land of a socialist state Under his leadership iron and steel works introduced a new, perfect steel-making system using no coking coal and scrap iron and chemical industry bases brought about a radical turn in the development of the national economy by mass-producing fertilizers and vinalon. Meanwhile modern light-industry bases of great significance in the improvement of the people's standard of living spruced up in various parts of the country and an ostrich farm, a sturgeon farm and world-ranking fruit farms were built for the first time in Korea.

During his on-site guidance Chairman Kim Jong Il often took rice balls for meal and made up for rest with a nap. Train and car were his office and home.
In spite of his serious fatigue and illness he kept on providing on-site guidance until he passed away on train. He told his doctors who, shedding tears, asked him to suspend his guidance trip for fear of his poor health that he was so sorry not to accept their advice and that they should adapt theirs to his schedule.
Thanks to his superhuman vigour and self-sacrificing devotion Korea ranked among the few countries which are capable of manufacturing and launching artificial satellite and became a nuclear state. And it laid solid foundations of the powerful self-supporting national economy armed with cutting-edge technologies. This offers a prospect for hitting the target of building a thriving socialist country in the near future.
Indeed, patriotism Kim Jong Il cherished and applied in his activities is the loftiest and most prominent one which can be associated with only his name in the light of its essence and vitality. As the crystallization of socialist patriotism, it is the most ardent love for the country and people and the most positive and self-sacrificing devotion for the prosperity of the country and well-being of the people.
Kim Jong Il's patriotism, a lofty spiritual heritage Kim Jong Il bequeathed to the Korean people, is a beacon and a compass which guide them to the road of true patriotism.
